Anneliese Ernestine Marta Margarete STEINHAUER and Walter Theodor (Theo) RUPPEL were married on 16 Aug 1939 in Frankfurt am Main, Hessen, Germany. Marriage took place in the Frankfurter Römer (city hall). The church wedding was on 2 September 1939 in the Christuskirche, Frankfurt-am-Main.. The reason for the August civil wedding was to qualify for a teaching job. Walter Theodor (Theo) RUPPEL (son of [Joh.] Georg RUPPEL and Johanna Frieda (Frieda) REICHERT) was born on 29 Jun 1914 in Darmstadt, Germany. He was a teacher ("Lehrer") in Raubach, Odenwald, Germany. He taught in a one-room schoolhouse, teaching a total of 13 children.

He died on 13 May 1942 in Novorosisk, USSR. He was the pilot of an unarmed Luftwaffe reconnaissance plane and was shot down over the Black Sea, flying at a height of only 200 meters. Anneliese Ernestine Marta Margarete STEINHAUER and Walter Theodor (Theo) RUPPEL had the following children:

Anneliese Ernestine Marta Margarete STEINHAUER and Rolf Karl-Heinz SCHMITT were married on 27 Nov 1954 in Braunfels an der Lahn, Germany. In order to marry, they needed to have Theo RUPPEL declared dead, and despite much red tape, were able to get married just before their second child, Claus, was born. Rolf Karl-Heinz SCHMITT^16,22 (son of Karl (Kappeschmitt) SCHMITT and Dora Bertha Margarete BAUKNECHT) was born on 29 Oct 1914 in Berlin, Germany.³⁶ He moved to Braunfels about 1918. He was educated at Volkschule between 1920 and 1924 in Braunfels an der Lahn, Germany. He was educated at the Gymnasium between 1924 and 1931 in Gießen, Hessen, Germany. He was educated at the Fürstliche Rentkammer (the Princely Treasury), where he apprenticed to be an accountant between 1931 and 1934 in Braunfels an der Lahn, Germany. He was a "Buchhalter" (bookkeeper) in Braunfels an der Lahn, Germany between 1934 and 1939. He worked in the Fürstliche Rentkammer. He was drafted into the army about 1939. He served in the German Army between 1939 and 1945. He was a parachutist on the Western Front, near Aachen. He was an insurance agent in Braunfels an der Lahn, Germany between 1946 and 1980. For many years he had an office in Wetzlar. He died on 23 Feb 1996 in Braunfels an der Lahn, Germany. He was an avid soccer player from when he was a little boy until about 1956. Position: "MIttelstürmer u. Linksaußen". He was a very active member of the F.S.V. Braunfels throughout his life. Held many positions including President, and also coached. His daughter Heide said she learned shorthand by writing down his weekly critiques of the games, which were then reviewed by the coaches.
